Mixing

We mix records for independent artists, home producers and working bands. Mostly rock, indie, punk, electronic, acoustic and Americana/folk, which also happens to be most of what we listen to.

What that means in practice

  • Rock and punk. Loud guitars that still leave room for the vocal, and drums that sound like somebody actually played them.
  • Indie. Records that sound like a choice, not a preset. Character over polish when the song wants it.
  • Electronic. Low end that holds up on earbuds, in the car and on a club system, and synths that keep their edge.
  • Acoustic. The voice and the instrument up front, the room left in where it helps, nothing hyped.
  • Americana and folk. Live-band feel and natural dynamics. It should sound like people in a room.

How it works

  1. Email a link to a rough mix and a sentence or two about the song.
  2. We listen and send back a quote and a date. That part costs nothing.
  3. You send the tracks. Here’s how to prep them.
  4. You get a first mix, and we revise from your notes. The number of revision rounds is spelled out in the quote.
  5. Final delivery is the full mix plus an instrumental and any other versions you need.

Rates

Every project is quoted per song, after we’ve heard it.
